Why the name is Yes We Can
Yes We Can Painting is Jorge's company, and the name says what it's about. You describe the job, the answer is yes, and then the work has to live up to it.
That's why the company runs the way it does. Jorge answers the phone himself, often on weekends too. He comes to look at the job when it needs a look, gives you the price and the date, and he's on the job while it's being done. The person you describe the work to is the person responsible for getting it right.
It also means the answer stays yes when a job turns out to be more than painting. A room that needs new drywall, a floor that needs refinishing, masonry that needs repair before the house is painted: the same crew does that work, so the job doesn't stop while you look for someone else.
How we work
The same habits go into every job, whatever its size, inside or out.
Surface first
Most of the time on a job goes into getting the surface ready. Skip that and no paint looks right for long.
Clean lines
Edges cut in by hand where colours meet, so the lines are straight at ceilings, trim and windows.
Enough coats
Two to three coats, decided by the surface and by how big the change of colour is.
Cleaned up
Tools packed away, drips and dust gone. You shouldn't have to clean up after the painters.
On schedule
You get a date, and the crew works to it. Keeping to timelines is one of the things Rick Finneran's review picks out.
Listening first
What you want done is the job. Questions get answered and concerns get dealt with promptly, as Carol Kolek noted in a review.
More than painting
Painting is most of what we do, but plenty of jobs need other work first or alongside it. So the same crew handles sheetrock and taping, masonry, ceramic tile, flooring and finish carpentry. One call, one schedule, and one person responsible for how it all fits together.
